Question:
Not all the banner images in the header and the topic images in the viewforum_body.tpl load the first time i enter either my /index.php nor /forum1.php page, it takes a reload to get all the images to appear. This has happened for the last few days only.
Code:
I think the macro for the topic images is: {topicrow.TOPIC_FOLDER_IMG}
This has happened in different internet cafés and also on my own netbook without changes my browser settings for cookies/cache, so i don't think it is a browser issue. It has happened on Mozzila's Firefox browser.
I'm just wondering if there is any suggestion i can try to rectify this problem.
I am no longer seeing what are known as 301 redirects on the template server. These were occurring when accessing from some places and may have been the cause of this issue.
We need to make a choice here
1) Abandon offsite templating as too complicated/error prone.
2) Spend another month shifting the service to the backup/gallery server.
3) Spend another month shifting the service to the old backup/gallery server, which was going to be scrapped.
4) Persevere with the godaddy shared hosting solution.
All options are a pain really But technically this problem really should go away with the shared hosting, unless the hosting really is dismal.
Thanks for the attention given to this, i didn't realise it would open up a can of worms but you know the cause and possible solutions which is half (or more) the battle and that's why you are so good at being admin _________________ Football Italia Forum
I'm getting an "Images have expired" message on my forum. It's only happened in the last hour. _________________ My Forum Uncle AJ's Watch & Nature Forum
Normally images are deleted when they have not been used for a while, and it looks like this one has been deleted. Looking at the post time it looks like a really new image, although it's just one image.
Perhaps just upload the one image again in the meantime, and Admin can sort out the problem. _________________

I think the user has gone off line but I'll suggest it to him. _________________ My Forum Uncle AJ's Watch & Nature Forum
Gallery images are not the same as those uploaded to a forum directly. images uploaded to a forum are never deleted, and it practical terms images to the gallery have never been deleted either (though they may be). _________________ Family Friendly Shareware | | Web Design/Services | Free Forums
I've checked up on the file name of the image that is the subject of the problem and it has a few "+" signs in it. Maybe the gallery is not recognising the non standard characters in the file name? Just a thought. _________________ My Forum Uncle AJ's Watch & Nature Forum
