At first I was thinking this is pointless , theres nothing that it could be used for.
But now i'm like cool , an idea for a new game in my forum, first person to roll 6,6,6 wins (not intended to be the mark of the devil ).
Is it right that once posted the dice will remain the same, so if I rolled 1,2,3 they will appear as 1,2,3 for everyone and wont change if someone refreshes their page, I refreshed my page and my dice stayed the same but i'm just checking.
Anyway, nice little update. _________________ http://the4aces.myfreeforum.org
Games like Dungeons & Dragons could have entire campaigns run via a forum. And believe me, the market for such games is absolutely immense...
My computer died so I have temporarily lost my art software (this computer is an old one and not much works on it) until I can get a new one, but when I do, if any dice artwork is needed I can certainly help. I can also do a rolling animation if wanted too
Remind me in a couple of weeks (should have new comp by then) and I'll rustle something up. _________________
Here is a little tutorial I made on making dice in Anim8or
Spoiler:
Tutorial for making dice a nice easy way...
1. Make a box, set it to have 70x70x70 size with 7 divisions on each axis.
2. Go edit..locate..centre about origin then go edit..locate..stand on ground
3. Go build..convert to mesh
4. Go to point edit mode, and select the faces that correspond to the numbers of the die.
5. Extrude them inwards just a little bit.
6. Extrude inwards again, a little bit more this time.
7. You might find it easier at this point to colour in the faces to whatever colour you want them.
8. Go to object mode.
9. Go build..subdivide faces. Leave the settings at default.
10. Up to you, but I did build..subdivide faces again.
Next Step
Ok, now what?
1. Try making a better die using 9 divisions, that way the 'dots' would be closer to the centre.
2. Experiment with the extrusions (parts 5 and 6), see what happens when you extrude different lengths then subdivide.
3. Using the Basics of texturing using Anim8or tutorial as a guide, make different effects on the dice. As a few suggestions, try crystal, plastic or maybe even gold. The Anim8or material database will also help you.
Have fun!
Very very easy, it took longer to make the tutorial than it took to make the dice lol. And of course, Anim8or has the ability to make animations _________________
lol, nice try, someone on my forum tried posting 100 dice, but i believe admin has allready said the restriction is 24 dice. _________________ http://the4aces.myfreeforum.org
