Despite a very specific request to the engineers on one of our servers An incorrect Reverse DNS address has got into the system. I am attempting to get this rectified.

Removed and apologised for.

Don't honestly think this would have nobbled us, the routing is one of the most complex areas of the net.

I have yet another big book on order on the subject.

Indeed Admin but its great fun on the yahoo game sites when they call you names that they think will hurt you and i end up laughing as it translates to something quite different over here

...actually, this sort of thing interests me because I'm developing a comic book with a British character. I've only ever picked up British slang from pop culture, I should try some more in-depth research...

Well you can run it past us here. There is so much you might otherwise be misinformed on. I was reading Bill Bryson the other day and he went through some American written guides on touring England which gave some excruciatingly inaccurate tips.
It was a bit like the Monty Python Hungarian phrase book sketch

nobbled i know, its the reverse dns that got me and i'm english!!!

tibbittz - we could have some real fun with this slang lark. anything you want to know just ask. my daughter was watching spongebob squarepants the other day when he said he had a 'sweaty fanny' (sorry if that's not acceptable, edit away mods) now that has a completely different meaning over here! my daughter just gaped at the tv
