Those members need somewhere for their discussion, and they don't want to lose the posting mileage they have clocked up, nor the friendship and comeradery that they have developed with other forum users over time.

It is their forum just as much as any admins, who appear to be abusing their admin postitions from where I stand.

We have plenty of forums where members are not getting the admins they deserve

But there are a million and one reasons why we do not make this our problem. Okay maybe an exaggeration, but with 20,000 forums, there are 20,004 reasons for this policy.

Well in my opinion Jimi has been a BIG idiot... (sorry Jimi but its the truth)

(Hi, by the way for those that dont know im Stacey a co-admin + mod on his/mikes forum - i just had to put my input in)

I've been admin on the forum for over a year now. And this is the first time i've ever felt ashamed to be admin on there, Jimi you have completly spoilt it for me doing this, you have betrayed admin and the whole of my free forum just by being greedy its not fair for all the hard work admin has done to keep ssf going, after all if it wasn't for mff there probably would be no ssf. You are so lucky the forum is still running.
Mike he's not being a teenager, frauding isn't being a teenager its criminal!! i'm ashamed of you Jimi, start acting like an admin!!!
A forum is about members, not if you make money out of it.

Its not the same for me anymore it hurts me to see this happen to something which did work.

(Again Jimi i'm sorry to say this but its how i feel after knowing this)

- Stacey

So what is the answer here? Though I don't expect you to be able to come up with a good solution here, I have to ask if you can think of one?

could you remove jim from the forum, post in their forum what has happened and that a new admin is required and that you will moderate who is chosen? i know it sounds a bit like the uk/usa invasion of iraq but a new regime is needed.

its a tough one

Once we go down that road, then we place forum owners as only being owners so long as we judge them fit to be so. Whilst I have every respect for my own moral authority in this regard I really don't think any owner wants someone sitting in judgment on their right to run their forum.
It is one thing to have a set of clear T&Cs that can result in a forums suspension, quite another to usurp a forums owners.

well, it was an idea that would keep the forum going but remove the bad apple.

another idea would be to post that the forum is to be shut down in a given amount of time and everyone has notice so that they can move on.

other than that, suspend it.

being a manager myself, time management is important and giving time to this which could be spent better elsewhere on mff needs to be considered

I feel the time aspect is within control. It is not taking a lot of time, and the issues it raises will help us deal with similar situations in future.
Don't worry on that score, I am involved in a democratic forum where moral issues can suck time dry as people debate them
We are not going to do that here, here we have a situation that needs dealing with, within a timescale, and the decision that ends up being made will be made with good intentions. Maybe it will be the right choice maybe the wrong choice, but such is life!
We will make a choice and move on, and no small cuddly animals will suffer as a result of that choice.

This is a one off. Common sense tells you what the answer is. No forum owner (of even remote intelligence) would consider themselves a target if you saved this forum.

'Save' the forum, not 'usurp' is the key to it.

That's my opinion anyway, for what it is worth.

1. Criminal Fraud.
2. Not mentioned yet, but he attempted to make us complicit in this, by asking me to tell google he was not trying to defraud them
3. We have provided a subsidized, and compared to any other forums system fast, stable and packed with feature forum for him, and he calls us shit on his forum
4. He has ripped off our site massively.
5. He is blatantly lying about his own so called forums service. This in my view is all tantamount to fraud.
6. Abusing the rules of the support forum.

Is that enough?
