Copuple of points, the site makes very good points about dangerous SEO techniques like link farms, the coop ad network we offer, seems from long experience safe on this score.
I also think the article talks a bit to much about requesting links on a large scale. In my expereience this is very hard and slow work. I prefer a quality and quantity of strong SEO content approach. _________________

my forum is a niche market, so i targeted all things 'Warcraft' to get my site recognised.
a concentrated whack in one place hits harder than a hit too spread out.... _________________

Basically yes. I regard most other forms of optimisation like link chasing and obsessive targeting of the finer details of how search engines operate as a bit like a hamster running on a wheel, ultimately it stays still, links made in this way dissappear over time and seach engines also change what they target. But each page of good content you add is an extra page for google, and an extra page people might naturally link to when they find it.
Hence your work accumilates. _________________
