Since this is what will now take precedence over other work, it seems appropriate to post a few updates, as we go. The aim is for after xmas as a release date.
Don't look for this progress in your own forums, as they are strictly on a test server behind a firewall
The current state is that you can edit any template that is named after your forum. Though no image uploading or ability to create the templates is there yet.

One thing to note about the creation of your own template is that you will be able to copy any of your own edited templates, or any of the core templates on the system. But you will never see anyone elses edited templates.
This serves the dual purpose of allowing you to have your work protected from plagurism, and will stop problems in styles/admin/add. _________________

This is going somewhat smoother than anticpated
You can now create and edit and install your own templates.
The only real issue so far has been the need for every other line it seems at times, to be die("hacking attempt")
All that is not written is the image upload manager. It does make me inclined to bring the release date for this considerably forward. _________________

I don't know if I should attempt to edit a template if I have to ask how to do something , but how do you put hacks into your template, and the template editing section is in the Template Management section of the Administrative Control Panel, right?

Hacks are something that must also be in the main system.
Maybe the support point does not come across quite right. We are not saying you cannot aks questions here, or even that I will not answer. But we are saying that it is impractical for you to screw up a template and actually have us fix it. _________________

The system is now complete
It is notable that thus far there are 16 different checks for attempts to hack into this code.
And there will still be an independant proof read for security before this is released.
It stands to reason this will be released prior to xmas now. I apologise for leading people down the garden path on time scales. But frankly I had not had the time to scope how involved this would all be. _________________
