|
|
I need some ideas to improve Link Exchange Forums. When it first came out it was very active now it seems bare. Currently i have 2 hacked templates meaning both have sub portals, search bar, and spell checker. Sub silver and Ginaandsymon chatroom (it was easier finding the logo in the overall_header in it ) We have 23 members a few inactive ill admit that and over 600 posts now in the last week it rather died. Can anyone give any suggestions and Search engines is out of the question (as i have different plans for that).
Any ideas?

Well, you could moderate your own linkexchange section on my forum... You might have to neglect your forum for a bit, but the extra members on my forum, might be enough to nump start your forum for you...
Just an idea.
We're huge at the moment (Well, you know... Figure of speech)with nearly 2600 posts and now have 29 members, within 7 days! _________________

Thats because you stole all my members. Since you came out and advertised on link exchange all the members came over there. Guess i know why link exchanges forums went unsuccessful. _________________

Link exchange isn't about getting members and massive amounts of posts, it's about creating a source for people to find the forums their looking for.
so you'll only get two kinds of people on there:
1. Those that are looking for the right forum
2. Those that put their forum on there
You know it's not a chat forum, so why complain about it being dead, it's supposed to be in a wierd roundabout kinda way. _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.

Cody! Ziddy! In your corners!
I joined both your forums and have your banner links on mine. (see your other thread, cody)
I was thinking long and hard about link exchange and I came to the conclusion that after looking at other forums most "links" are very hard to find or aren't even present. On my forum they're all in the bottom with scrollbar. (hopefully growing)
Now here's my 3 cents:
1) Cody, your forum needs a clearer structure (more categories) so admins can post their forum links and banners there. It's all about clarity about the category/interest. Should the category not be there, have a member or visitor let you know.
2) Each category or interest (you choose) should have it's own Webring on which each admin who posted his/her forum becomes a member of that webring (clearly overadvertized by Link Exchange ).
3) Each member of Link Exchange could add an affiliates/link exchange boeard (I've seen those before) to get their members and visitors' attention to similar forums.
I'm not a pro or anything, but that's how I would get attention on websites and forums. Consider those ideas (if they were at all useful) and turn that frown up-side down! _________________
