The ability to change template and style name has been removed from Admin/Styles Admin/Management.

There is nothing that could be achieved with this that cannot be achieved with the template/logo editor, and what would happen is that people would change template or style out of ignorance of what they were doing and confuse the hell out of themselves, the system and finally the support forum!

ok... does this have anything to do with when I go into the admin section, then try the "Edit Templates/Logos" and can't edit the different files anymore for the different custom styles? I am trying to edit the footer to put in some HTL for a link to a site that I need to put in (for a webring) and it just says:

"Error

You have not created the "editor" user, which is useful for testing any complicated template edits
If you are planning more than a simple logo change, please create this user."

And below that in a seperate box it says:

"General Error

Please create editor user before changing files "

so... do I actually have to make an admin member profile that is actually named "Editor"?

This change is nothing to do with editing template files.

But yes we have got fed up of people editing template files without creating the editor user.

so... why would you want us to create an editor user? Just seems simpler to just let the admin(s) edit them under their own usernames instead of having a seperate account for them (this is the first I've heard of needing an editor user to edit templates).

The need for an editor user is explained every time you enter the screen.

Admins can edit the files, but only if the editor user has been created.
