How do you set-up your forum where the user's account needs to be approved before the account is created? Either by an administrator or a moderator?

If there's already an answer to this question - please let me know! We're moving our forum from a different website due to many flamers/trollers and we would like all joining members require some sort of approval before the account is created.

Thank you!

PLEASE ENTER THE FOLLOWING>>>>

Enter your myff forum url here, if the issue is on a particular part of the forum, then give a link to where the problem actually is. Do not enter your own domain name it must be the actual myff link :

If you are asking a template related question, what is the name of the template:

Please indicate keywords you have searched on:

Now ask your question in clear English without "txt" speak>>>>

This is all to help us to help you, it isn't there just to be awkward.

Sorry - throwing this thing together last minute. Very tired, I thought that was a suggestion, not a demand

Thank you for your help! I just thought since there was no actual problem with anything I didn't need to put any of that stuff

Not really a demand as such, just a mechanism designed to help.  In the past we've known it for people to take days to get their issue resolved where if they had followed the posting checklist, which is:

Quote:
You must give the (myfree/myfast/myfine)forum.org link/address of your forum. A link should be given to the problem if at all possible. Do this whether you think it is important or not. DO NO GIVE YOUR OWN DOMAIN LINK IT MUST BE THE NAME YOU CREATED HERE.
Search on the forum and on howtodoit for your problem before posting. 90% of the posts we get have easily found answers if you search on a couple of key words from your post. If this is not the case report the keywords you searched on and we will make sure search works for the next person to try the same search terms. Each time someone doesn't bother to use the search, questions accumulate in the forum making it harder for people to actually find answers! as people searching will end up finding the question and not the answer.
Keep it to one support question per thread, if you have another question start a new topic. This will help others using "search" to find answers.

that they would have had things sorted within a few minutes.  An example is someone who posted  that they had a phpbb3 forum and got answers for that, and because they hadn't posted their forum we didn't realise it was actually a phpbb2 forum they had so none of the help would work.  So it is there for a useful purpose  Wink

Incidentally, because you didn't say what your forum is, I had to guess that yours was phpbb2 and you got the answer for that.
