I mod that game, and sales and/or transferring of accounts is explicitly against the rules. All we can do is police the MFF ToS, we cannot possibly trawl the internet looking for other peoples ToS and then enforcing them. For a start, we cannot ever know the full extent of other peoples systems. If they are not breaking MFF ToS, and it isn't something completely blatant (ie Admins discretion), then it is not our place to be enforcing anything along these lines. Of course, each case according to it's own merits (hence mentioning Admins discretion), but this should be dealt with in a responsible manner, not by making threats immediately then seeking clarification afterwards. _________________ CG Arts for free Banners, headers, logo's, signatures and avatars.

I don't know if this annoys anyone else, but this is not illegal. It's only breaking the terms of service that you agree to when registering for runescape.com, it doesn't break any real laws and therefore is not illegal. I wish people wouldn't mislabel things as illegal, really gets on my nerves.

To get picky like that... you are selling intellectual property which belongs to Jagex LTD. You are selling something that is not your own, thus, it's illegal. People try to bypass this by saying it's selling the time and effort put into it.. but that's no better. Intellectual property? So you're saying JAGEX own my username and password? When you sell an account you're selling ACCESS in the form of a username and password, JAGEX do not own this, they own things like the runescape graphics and the name but are they selling this? No, they're selling account access.

Are you telling me if I send $1 to Bravo for his myfreeforum.org account I'm stealing the admins intellectual property? Of course I'm not, I might breach myfreeforums terms but I am not breaking the law in any way whatsoever, definitely not "intellectual property" laws.

JAGEX throw their weight around with lawyers a lot and if they start doing that with us we are not exactly in a position to challenge it. What is your problem Zudane? You seem to be very eager to shut this forum down. If this is against the ToS of MYFF, John will delete the topic (which has already), but like someone said its not against the law, its against the rules of Runescape. I have tried to sell my Runescape account a few times on MYFF forums and some off MYFF, and I have had no problem. _________________ The Apple Forum

The forum being shut down I don't care about - but something to be done with the sale of the account I do care about. And While, though you are quite arrogant, you are selling much more than access to the account. If you bought the username on a forum you are buying a username, when you buy a username on a game you get all character information that goes with it. The username is not the property of the game makers, but the character information is. And to answer why I care about this... OK, maybe you are right in what every you said, but it is nothing to do with John as admin, he is just making sure there is no posts that are against MYFF ToS, which there isn't.

If you have a problem, go onto the forum and PM the person or report him to Runescape.

also, I'm yet to read that the sale of personal accounts for a fee is prohibited on the runescape terms of service, I'm not supporting it, as I'm a big believer of the game is more fun and rewarding if you get there yourself route.
