Which in English means the information that wells the world how to get to your forum.

I am working through making all the DNS set up for the forums consistent, we have been through loads of permutations over the years and whilst it has all been working the inconsistencies should not be there.

We will now be rationalizing to three of our own nameservers 1 in Europe and 2 in America and a 3rd party system that will receive its updates in a totally different manner to the others.

This should be robust, and in fact is pretty much what happens now anyway.

However is had to be admitted that updating it all is a tricky process and so I'm posting this as a head up in case anything goes wrong and someone finds they cannot see their forum.

a couple more records are now reporting correctly but I hate this whole propagation process.

There are two conflicting sayings here!

"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

and

"accident waiting to happen".

We have been living both, evolving the system without breaking it, but developing a bit of a mess that can only cause problems if not tidied up.

Still seeing 32 hour time to live on some records and the third party service being slow to update.

It does remind me why I have not elected to have days of stress and bother sorting it all out before now!

Corrected another couple of errors today and also a problem with the server configuration on "slarti". But by and large we may be pretty much done here

Hi

i keep trying to get onto my forum

its:

www.newgamereleases.myfreeforum.org

it says

Connection Interrupted

The document contains no data.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Any ideas why? im guessing it might be something to do with DNS but i asked my friend to try and he can get onto it no problem
Please help thanks

It won't be a DNS issue, It has to be something local about your connection I think.

The forum loads no trouble from here, and there are no known server issues.
