Discovering?? St0rm, I didn't know you were from Spain!!!!

I think Christopher Columbus gets the credit for discovery, even though we now knwo that the scandinavians found these shores much earlier... but, uhm, the UK just provided lots of people to come live here!!!

and we thank you for that!

tibbittz - we could have some real fun with this slang lark. anything you want to know just ask. my daughter was watching spongebob squarepants the other day when he said he had a 'sweaty fanny' (sorry if that's not acceptable, edit away mods) now that has a completely different meaning over here! my daughter just gaped at the tv

ok now you have us curious... if you can enlighten just enough for understanding without erm... being indelicate... it would be much appreciated!

English slang... POLICE
Liverpool = Rozzers or the Bizzies
Lincolnshire = Bacon
Yorkshire = Scuffers or plod
South = Filth or pigs
Military = MOD Plod or Redcaps or Reggies or Snowdrops
Southern bikers = Feds or layby lazer loiterers
Old English = Peelers
Scotland (some parts) = Law or peelers or bobbies

It would depend on where the scene is set and who is doing the talking!
