Then again, if Guests see an annoying number of adverts, they are very unlikely to register with your forum. Bear in mind that they won't know that they will get less adverts if they register.

We will never over do it, we are sensitive to this.

I can't think of a reason why guests whouldn't have 100% advertisements, unless it causes all of the posts in the thread to have an ad... that could be annoying, but for the ad to show up in the last post every time... I see no reason for it not to, particularly on guests.

i only say this because it annoys me to see 'guest' posts. it doesnt take long to register a name, log in and post.

c'mon alll you guest posters out there, log in and show your face

im for anything that will encourage guests to register....

Personally I don't care if people register or not, as long as they're posting. I'd rather have a lot of posts by a few members and several guests than lots of members and no posts.

wait... can't all the complainers pay to get the ads removed? I mean, it's an option guys and if you want to pay for your hosting and support, then do it... otherwise, these ads are doing it for you... sorry, but you can't have your cake and eat it too....

Do you have to stay on an adverted site(e.g. a site that was one of the adverts) for a certain period of time before Google will pay for clicking on that ad?

nope, i think google pays a dime for every click... my friend had people click and click and click and click and just keep clicking without the page ever loading and he made $50...

And then no doubt got busted by google and never got paid! At least that is what should have happened. The system works only if everyone is honest. Business pay to advertise and not to be defrauded

Have you ever considered experimenting with pop under ads instead of banner ads? I read somewhere that nowdays banner ads are slowly losing their popularity to pop unders.

Pop anythings are not only way too in your face, you are also forced to take an action to get rid of them. We stated from the very start that we would never do that to people, and we won't.

Thank you, I'm very glad to hear that.

That might work with some guests, but I wonder how many guests bother to read forum announcements etc? I'm sure some do, but I bet most just read the threads that interest them.
