There is a forum I go on that is powered by MFF (it has the MFF favicon, and it started out as a 'myfreeforum.org), however it is now a .co.uk

Do the MFF T&C still apply in these cases?

The terms and conditions are there to meet a combination of criteria, our own sense of what is right and restrictions imposed by google.

Being disassociated from myff by being on your own domain makes very little difference.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Someone has posted a link to some 'warez', I didn't know whether or not they fell under the MFF T&C.  I know warez aren't a regular feature, and this is the first instance I know about.  I have asked for the moderators to clean it up, I think they will (hopefully) once they get on.  I wont post it officially here unless you specifically ask for it.

I'll let you know what happens either way.

Warez are illegal, and are covered by the T&C regardless of domain or advert free status.

Obviously there is a big difference between a forum where some warez has been posted and the admins are clearing it up, and a forum where warez is what the forum is about.

Where possible we do not want to micro manage forums, we want to rely on the good sense of admins and moderators to deal with things.

With warez on a forum, any admin will soon find that what might seem like a good idea for some easy popularity soon spirals out of control.

e.g. if you put or tolerate warez on a forum, then it will detract from what the forum is actually about, and people will come there for the warez, soon you will not have a forum running with its original intentions, but a forum more and more about warez that will sooner or later be caught and closed down.

Much the same goes for pr0n or anything else dubious.

One of the admins came on and removed the references.
