Outgoing links on a site are reputed to help a little, as they reflect a "good site". But they are far far less important than incoming links.

I got a few big sax sites to link to me. My PR hasn't increased any, though. And when I ran a link popularity scan, none of the sites linked to me showed up.

Then the sites are not that big! I have little to council but patience.

So if submit my forum to a lot of sites/ link with lots of sites, it still takes a while for it to affect my PR?

google updates on some levels only once a month! so you have to have patience.

I think this is going to make sense to implement via the control panel. So by all means sign up, but some patience is going to be needed. I think it could be Saturday week before we risk another major upgrade. Apparently all of the sites that have linked to me over the past month has definately helped. I am now on the third page of Google when you type in saxophone forum, whereas a month ago I wasn't even in the top 200!
