PLEASE ENTER THE FOLLOWING>>>>

Enter your myff forum url here, if the issue is on a particular part of the forum, then give a link to where the problem actually is. Do not enter your own domain name it must be the actual myff link : http://archale.myfreeforum.org/index.php

The whole forum

If you are asking a template related question, what is the name of the template:

Please indicate keywords you have searched on:

Now ask your question in clear English without "txt" speak>>>>

Basically I wanna know how I go about squishing things to a 'centered' position from the 'stretched' position. Everything is too wide and I want it not so, if that makes any sense. What part of the template do I go to to edit the numbers to make it sized the way I want? Once I know that I can dicker with it, I'd like to muss with the colors too, but I'll settle for making it not stretched.

I don't know that I'm seeing what you seeing, I'm seeing a slightly distorted logo, but no other stretching.

That's because I changed the template to something that was centered.
Most of the styles provided don't do that and that's why I wanna know how to change that.
There are some great styles, but I want them to do what the style I have now does and I wanna know how I go about doing that myself.

That's useful, but I was hoping for a more direct answer to the problem I'm having, like 'go to this section and look for this, edit whenever' type thing.
I'm sure the margins for the width are in the sections of code somewhere, but I just don't know what section its under.

it really is dependant on the template you have chosen, the way their setup in phpbb2 is the opening bit of code is in the overall_header.tpl where you should see the start of the table that layouts everything in order, you should see width="100%" or similar, that should be the only one you need to edit, maybe align="center" if it's not there, you can add it

What section of the code list should I look under?
That's the biggest thing is knowing where to go, the style I wanna edit is the lord of the rings one, but I had to settle for the one I have.

You are not making yourself clear enough.

first off when i click your link it goes to your forum and not a webpage, yet you have posted in webpage editing section in here.

There is a big difference to forum templates and the webpage templates, which one are you wishing to edit.

Also can you provide the name of the template that you wish to use that you say is too stretched.

By providing this info would then enable us to see the problem and the correct template section we need to look at.

Gods, just my luck I'd put this in the wrong place lol.
The style I want to make a template of to edit is in the books and literature section of the styles to download, its called lord of the rings.
The one I am using now is just temporary till I can muss with the one I really want to use.
Is that better?

Ok here is your answer..

The file you need to edit is the overall-header.tpl

look for a code like this.

Code:
<body bgcolor=#4D6250 leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 rightmargin=0 bottommargin=0>
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

Now edit the Table width and margin width to something like this.

Code:
<body bgcolor=#4D6250 leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=200 marginheight=0 rightmargin=0 bottommargin=0>
<table width="50%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

So it goes from this

To this

Thank you very very much!

Sorry for the double post, but I have a new bit of trouble and this time its changing the background, I didn't see the point of making a new thread.

Now, I finally got it the way I want, but now I have this flat color behind and I wanna change that, the problem is...

http://howtodoit.myfreeforum.org/...component=content&topicid=712

That guide doesn't fit the theme I have, neither the header or the css area have what is described.
As a result I am quite confused and in need of assistance yet again lol.

While I'm at it I'd also like the area to change the size of the 0's under 'posts' and 'threads' they seem rather...large.
I'd also like to muss with the text colors, like for the sub-forum names as they blend in with the color of the descriptive text under them.
If I'm gunna be asking one question, I might as well ask the rest, saves the poor person helping me a ton of time!

So, could someone help me?
:3 Thanks in advanced!

To change the background colour you need to edit this part of the code in overall_header.tpl

Code:
</head>

<body bgcolor=#4D6250  leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=200 marginheight=0 rightmargin=0 bottommargin=0>

Change the bgcolor to the one you want... you can find the color codes here

http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp

Now to change the numbers in post and threads you need to edit index_body.tpl

look for

Code:
<td class="row1"><span class="smalltext"><font size="2">{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</font></span></td>
          <td class="row2"><span class="smalltext"><font size="2">{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</font></span></td>

change the font size to 1 on both of them.

Lastly the txt colour change can all be done in the .css file

I wont do that part for you , as you need to do a little learning yourself, just mess with the textarea colours and you will get the hang of it.

I'll give it a shot

Mostly what I wanna do is replace that flat color with an image, but I can't figure out how as there is no section for it in the places that I was told to look.

For a background image rather than a colour simply change it from colour to image like this

Code:
</head>

<body background="http://www.YOUR PATH TO IMAGE GOES HERE"  leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=200 marginheight=0 rightmargin=0 bottommargin=0>
<table width="50%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

Change the url to the path of your image
