At any rate, while the "legal issue" which is being used is copyright, the actual issue is much more serious, at least for someone involved in post-graduate academia - that of plagerism.

The picture in the upper left of your forum is now the default for the board style, but last time, when I complained here, it was a copy of the one in the upper left corner of our forum, which I made. It didn't take me long and didn't take much effort, but I made it for our site, and in trying to duplicate our site, you used both the material generously provided by the folks here at myfreeforum.org, and material that I and others made for our site. You still have almost exact duplicates of my announcement posts on your board:

Really, the posts don't even make any sense in the context of your site - for example, it's clear that you weren't fielding questions about a site change all weekend, to prompt you to put up the "Gaining Ranks" announcement.

Neither I, nor anyone who has been putting time and effort into our Sith Lords site, really cares if your site is up - as long as it is your site, and not just a copy of ours. If you're going to make a site, make it your own. If you don't stop ripping off material from our site, I will continue to complain to the administrative staff of myfreeforum.org until they just ban you completely.

Oh, and incidentally, banning your email and IP based on abusive posts on our board is completely fair. I've been an admin on different kinds of internet groups for too long to put up with much of that behavior for long - and everything I've seen from either of you only reinforces the validity of that decision.

Thanks for the post, it strikes me your conduct has shown the utmost patience with people who have been given every opportunity to stop ripping off your forum.

You would have every right to demand instant suspension, but I assume from the tone of your post you are willing to give them one last chance?

But I am sure you and us have pretty much had enough of this senseless behaviour.

I am inclined to give them 24 hours to remove the posts. If they do not do so, then it will not be another suspension, but they will be removed from the system with no chance to come back.

I wasn't really offering anything, just explaining myself - I didn't think I was in any position to demand anything, I'm taking advantage of a free service you're offering.

No matter how quickly or harshly you suspend or ban them from your site, you will not hear a complaint out of me. Just because I express myself politely and understand my position on your site, doesn't mean I'm feeling particularly gracious towards them.

I am also on the site from which Scourge is also a member, and I agree with Scourge whole-heartedly. I put in a lot of effort to find good, decent pictures to be used as rank-pictures, and then I find they just copied them for their forum!

Why, jdwolfe, should we help you? If you want to effectively start your own forum, which in its most basic form is plaguerism, as the url is ours minus the S, then you need to prove to future users that you are mature enough to come up with your own material.

As a good start, might I suggest completely starting again, with a new url, one which doesn't blatantly rip-off ours, and none of our material? Then, you can do whatever you want, as long as it doesn't resemble our own material, which we have put long hours into, and that you've copied in a matter of minutes.

If you are truly sorry for what you have done, and are jealous of our site, why not just join it, and work your way up the ranks? In starting your own site, you are going to attract little to no members, as ours is in conjunction with the Jedi forum, which, for some obscure reason, picks up a lot of new members, some of which want to join our site.

This means it will really be a two-man site, which will be quite boring, and worse then taking the time to work your way up the ranks on a good, fun forum.
