Posted: Sat Jul 28, 2007 6:57 pm Post subject: Trying to change style and edit |
|
|
It get this message when I want to edit the style I am wanting to change my forum to
"You are editing a template that does not appear to be installed in your configuration
Possibly the "style_name" or "template_name" in the file theme_info.cfg, does not match the template name "myff_rhodesiansworldwidemagazine1"
This is required for the template editor to automatically install the template. Please report this issue on the support forum. "
When I try to change the style I save it first to one of my myff_rhodesiansworldwidemagazine1 etc files. I then chose edit on that configuration and I get the notice above. If I continue to go ahead and then try to select it as my default style I get a critical error message. One the style selection choices in my General-Configuration area under default style I cannot see the complete style name. They all come up as myff_rhodesiansworldwidemagazi with nothing after them. Help. I am just trying to change the logo and wanted to use the style mobtown.

Here is what I get when I install a new style and then click on preview forum:
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not open templates/ / myff_rhodesiansworldwidemagazi template config file. The system should now have auto recovered from this error. Please refresh.

did you refresh as it says to?
also how many templates have you gone through as adding a lot can cause a db error which admin will have to sort for you?
will ticket, for him to see this, also where's the link, no link no way to sort it?
:EDIT:
can't ticket this section boss? _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.

I think there may be a systemic issue here with styles and a forum name of that length I will try tweaking the database for this forum. _________________

tweaked now, your forum name is beyond the lenght limit we allow these days, and so was incompatible with the template editing sytem with a standard database. _________________

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I have tried to change the style again and edit it following all of the directions-all I want to do is add my own logo. The same things happen as described before.
My forum is at :
http://rhodesiansworldwidemagazine.myfreeforum.org
Thanks

| Quote: | 1. You must give the (myfree/myfast/myfine)forum.org link to your forum. A link should be given to the problem if at all possible. Do this whether you think it is important or not.
2. Search on the forum and on howtodoit for your problem before posting. 90% of the posts we get have easily found answers if you search on a couple of key words from your post. If this is not the case report the keywords you searched on and we will make sure search works for the next person to try the same search terms. Each time someone doesn't bother to use the search, questions accumulate in the forum making it harder for people to actually find answers! as people searching will end up finding the question and not the answer.
3. Keep it to one support question per thread, if you have another question start a new topic. This will help others using "search" to find answers.

You can add as many as you like just find the ones you want and add them then go admin panel general configuration and change to the one you want in default style box _________________
