How Do i Re-enable our forum, main Admin has left

Well I can get passed that, but nonetheless this needs to be given a lot of time for people to make their opinion known. I would also point out that the thread must link back to here, so if people feel their negative opinion will be disregarded/deleted then they know where to go to voice it.

I'd also appreciate more background and information to justify the change of ownership. This is not something we do lightly, and as far as there is precedent the chances are pretty even as to whether it will be allowed.

Hi Nick,

Privious admin did the work, we dont have any rights on it, this is why we want the rights so we can do some cleaning up, would be be eaier to delete the forum and re-registerd? please advice?

may be i can give you my log in details so you can see the forum?

Restarting is the "cleaner" option. A forced change of ownership is not something done quickly or easily.

I have tagged "old" onto the forum name.

Currently both names will access the forum, but this does mean you should be able to create a new forum with the name.

As per the correspondance started by my friend and trusted colleague Daddy J, I am writing to explain ( as you requsted ) for further clarification as to why we want to take ownership of
http://sharabyarmy.myfastforum.org.

Basically, the previous administrator decided that he no longer wished to carry on with this and despite many pleas from other members of our group/forum, he did not hand over ownership prior to leaving. As I believe you have found out too, he is now no longer contactable. - although, we have since found out from a third party that he has started a new forum....but its definitely one we do not wish to be part of !

Unlike his " new " forum, ours is intended to be a small, close knit forum, not one thats going to actively pursue a vast membership.  As its stands we have quite a few people who are just awaiting your approval to hand over the reins to Daddy J as forum admin and thus hope that this post and the ones that have already been written, mean you can do this sooner rather than later.

Hope this clarifies the issue for you.

The "small close knit thing" does help us cop out here and do the new forum same name route

I know that is not ideal, but you must appreciate why we have issues here.

Hi Admin

With all due respect to your comments, all the memebers who are currently part of this group want to get the old forum going again. The previous admin who has left the group disbaled the forum without our permission which was not fair on the rest of the memebers. We have tried to contact to give us the login details to do this but not had any luck. Hence we have not been able to do anthing about this, until we thought lets try to ask you for help.

We are a small group and it would help for j to be the admin as he is the only person within the current memebers who is able to manage the forum, rest have very minimal skills to do the job.

I understand that we could easily signup again but do you think we would be able to signup as sharabyarmy? The thing is we have done alot of work on this forum and there have been very intresting posts which we dont want to lose. I know its hard on your side to change the ownership but we are willing to do whatever it takes to change this, as we just want to re-use the forum again.

Please please help us....we want admin rights for this so we can get the members posting again its been so difficult without the forum.

Of course Admin...I appreciate you have to tread very carefully here. Definitely understand that but we really dont want to lose the history of posts we built up previously hence why we want to re-establish the old forum rather than start a new one, albeit with same name.

Presumably someone has created a new forum with that name. As I said I renamed the forum add "old" on the end of the name so you could create the forum again.

I see, admin do you think its possible to copy the content and info from the old forum onto the new one? i.e. all the threads etc and the settings?

I am not sure if j can do everything from scratch? like the colors etc...would be good if there is a way to get the content across at the very least?
