He's using subSilver2, I tested on proSilver.

I would change back to prosilver but i like the look of subsilver and the way the portals are in boxed headings. Could anyone recommend another template I could try?

Does the problem pop up when you use ONLY those portals?
I have put them in with no problem, so something tells me there is another problem.
Can you give a quick list of modifications you've made to your template? _________________

didn't 3.0.5 get template changes, zudane says he just tried on subSilver2 and they worked, so surely that's up to date, but would a copied template still be the older version as it's folder is not listed as subSilver2? _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.

That might explain the problem, but only Admin would know...
The link you just gave is myfunforum, while the link to your forum is a myfastforum
Perhaps it's not the template, but just a problem with the search looking in the wrong section and that is messing it up? _________________

Trouble is "used the howtodoit bb3 to put in the portal on the left" does not make things clear.
I can and have tried to deal with the reported "NO SEARCH" error display, but I don't really know which portal caused this. A report saying I put {MYFF.WHATEVERITWAS} into overall_template.html would be shorter and clearer.
Also to get picky we are trying to figure out the quick mod issue here and this report is about another problem and hence for clarity should be in another thread, that might seem a severe attitude but when we are trying to nail something tricky it does help if we are focused on topic. _________________

I am not sure why but when I removed the login portal it fixed the quick mod issue. Shall I start another thread then for this problem?
Sorry it went off topic it kind of just wondered into this other problem and I didnt think.

This thread is about the quick mod issue.
So are we saying that if we take a copy of subSilver2 and add the MYFF.LOGIN portal to overall_header.tpl we see the quickmod issue? _________________

Yes, I was advised to try taking it out and when I did the mod tools worked fine.
