Is it allowed the posting of BOOTLEGS? like fan made bad quality recordings of concerts and such? I always see in forums that it is allowed, but not the posting of studio mp3s HQ.
Thanks.

But it would be from concerts and live shows only, so it wouldn't be a "copy", there's a big paid forum that allows the posting of this type of files.

At most concert venues it clearly states that recording is not allowed under any circumstances. YOu should pay the venue a facility fee, MCPS licence fee, the band a fee... even recording it is an offence! _________________

No, you are still breaching the copyright of the artist AND the recording. If it is a remix you are usually taking 2 or more tracks and mixing them... thus you are breaching two copyrights at the same time!
Even if you own the recordings (bought the CD) you would have to have the authority and permission of the composer and the person who holds the copyright on the recording to make any changes or edits as it is their intellectual property and copyright...
John Williams forbids ANYONE from arranging, rescoring, orchestrating, editing ANY of his music and does prosecute if it happens. Think how you would feel if you wrote a piano concerto and some untrained idiot came along and changed it all so it was awful!

That's right, it may seem harsh, but it is the law and record companies are not known for flexability. They can and do take people to court! _________________

So its not allowed no matter if the artist allows the bootlegs being on the internet. We want to post bootlegs from an artist and small record company that doesn't take any action about bootlegs, they are even posted on the official forum...as is some kind of promotion for the artist.
