Nameserver changes in the next 48 hours

Finally I have found the source of problems with the configuration of our new master nameserver server. An error on my part   that even the guy who runs a dedicated DNS system and who spotted it for me admitted he had made! which means I don't feel too bad about it  

Anyhow this means we can get on with the business of pensioning off two virtual servers

In practical terms this should be entirely painless and invisible to users, but I do like to remind people sometimes that a lot like this does go on behind the scenes.

The new secondary server now seems live and reading from the new master. But I think we will wait until the morning to make that official. Safe as it should be, I prefer to set time bombs to explode during the day

In principle all is now done on the nameserver front, just leaving a load of forums housework to be caught up with. It is a bit like letting the dish washing pile up you may find all sorts of nasties lurking, in this case a 100 or so scum forums with redirects to porn etc set up. Normally these get dealt with daily, but the nameserver transition made this trickier
