xMas Theme Template - removing snow...

I have searched in HowTodoIt with removing snow, stopping snow, editing templates etc.

Hi there

I am using the xMas theme template on our forum and we have snow on every page. Quite a few members are complaining about the snow, personally I love it, but hey.

I have found How to add snow in HowToDoIt and have searched for the code on my forum and can't find it anywhere - have looking in index_body.tpl. Can you tell me where else to look for it please? Am assuming if I remove it the snow as per how to add it in the HowToDoIt section it will stop and we will be left with the lovely Xmas theme?

Appreciate your help.

if its every page then look inoverall_header.tpl and overall_footer.tpl.

In overall_header.tpl there is this reference to snow, but I'm not sure if that is the right bit and if so what I would need to alter ...

/* General page style. The scroll bar colours only visible in IE5.5+ */
body {
   background-color: #FFFFFF; background-image: url(templates/myfs_rescueremedies4/images/snow.gif); background-repeat: yes; background-attachment: fixed;
   scrollbar-face-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
   scrollbar-highlight-color: {T_TD_COLOR2};
   scrollbar-shadow-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
   scrollbar-3dlight-color: {T_TR_COLOR3};
   scrollbar-arrow-color:  {T_BODY_LINK};
   scrollbar-track-color: {T_TR_COLOR1};
   scrollbar-darkshadow-color: {T_TH_COLOR1};

I looked in the footer and there is not very much at all and no reference.

Appreciate your help as this is advanced for me.

remove:

background-image: url(templates/myfs_rescueremedies4/images/snow.gif); background-repeat: yes; background-attachment: fixed;

I tried that, but it takes out the whole of the background i.e. the blue and template outline plus the snow. Any other ideas?

Find

Code:
/* General page style. The scroll bar colours only visible in IE5.5+ */
body {
    background-color: #FFFFFF; background-image: url(templates/myfs_rescueremedies4/images/snow.gif); background-repeat: yes; background-attachment: fixed;
    scrollbar-face-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-highlight-color: {T_TD_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-shadow-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-3dlight-color: {T_TR_COLOR3};
    scrollbar-arrow-color:  {T_BODY_LINK};
    scrollbar-track-color: {T_TR_COLOR1};
    scrollbar-darkshadow-color: {T_TH_COLOR1};

change to

Code:
/* General page style. The scroll bar colours only visible in IE5.5+ */
body {
    background-color: #417CB9;
    scrollbar-face-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-highlight-color: {T_TD_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-shadow-color: {T_TR_COLOR2};
    scrollbar-3dlight-color: {T_TR_COLOR3};
    scrollbar-arrow-color:  {T_BODY_LINK};
    scrollbar-track-color: {T_TR_COLOR1};
    scrollbar-darkshadow-color: {T_TH_COLOR1};

then add after

Code:
#snowing {
   background-image: url(templates/myfs_rescueremedies4/images/snow.gif);
   background-repeat: yes;
   background-attachment: fixed;
}

then you can use the below on certain page that you choose

at the top
Code:
<div id="snowing">

at the bottom
Code:
</div>

so placing the two div parts above at the top and bottom of the index body, the falling snow background should only show on that page, but on others it should show the blue colour the animated image is using.

shout back if you get stuck

Thank you so much Nick!   We have no snow at the moment which is good.

Would like it on the first page, but didn't quite get how to do that. I went into Index_tpl and put the
Code:
<div id="snowing">
at the top and
Code:
</div>
at the bottom hoping to get snow just on the index page, but it didn't work.

What did I do wrong.

I would need to see the index_body.tpl as div elements can conflict and break layouts, I'd also need to see the template live

I have had to remove the template now because the layout and colouring was affected with too many complaints and I did'nt have the time to rectify quickly.

Alot of the text was pale blue and the index format lines were invisible.
