lol i wouldnt say success but things im doing are
msn - put it in your name, ask people to sign up forums you use - put it in your sig on sites u actually post on! forums that let you - make a topic. Made my mate a mod so we both do these also having your own domain helps, people r more likely to remember www.clubbingabroad.co.uk rather then clubbingabroad.myfreeforum.org (no offence as the service is great) and that seems to be working so far as we havent been added to most the search engines yet |

None taken, it is a good point, but obviously that is just the way things work. I wonder actually if we are failing here to publicise what may be a unique thing we do here  I do not know of any other free forum services that allow you to *really* have your own domain name?

how exactly does one go about getting a forum name change? what is the precedure.

you need to register a domain nmae then you need to point it to the nameservers for the site Admin will give you this information then after a small donation the admin does it from there | ||

ah! thanks for the info 
i have typed in "domain names" into my browser and a list came up, i clicked on yahoo domain registrations and apparently the price is only $5.98 for 2 years and it's for a .com so if i buy the domain name fastcars.com for example, i simply forward it to the URL name in my sig? when i've done that what do i ask admin to do? |
