Why Stay A Regular Member On The Support Forum?

Well, there doesn't seem like much to talk about here(besides updates and such), so I have a question to all the regular members that stay here(including myself); why do you stay here?
I love seeing members post their new forums up, because I love to critique them and give advice. That's why I stick around. I think of myself as the MyFF Guardian Angel.

Seriously, I dont know why im here either... I joined when i started my first forum over 2 years ago and i never left. And there is some chat and stuff, just that you dont look for it. Thats what Off-topic is here for.

It must be Admin`s Charm, nicks good looks, bravo`s brains, and my good cup of teas
Bravo

Keep up to date with the latest announcements and get to help other people out too

win/win
admin (no pm's please)

It is a very good question, as areas like "running your community" don't exactly have a thriving life

I have noted this to be a problem, the more guides that we get developed, the latest being Bravos really excellent video tutorials, the less good reason there is to join the support forum, let alone stay

As such we are reduced to categories:

1) A small hardcore of "helpers".
2) A trickle of people who come and go as they need help getting started or have decided to add something.
3) Another hardcore of people who seem to have lost sight of the fact that forums are not about features, but about members, and who also seem to perpetually be beyond their competence level in trying to add all the unnecessary stuff.

I wish we could change this mix.

Don't forget about me...   4) Those who come often, but post sporadically.

Hey since Symon's leaving, why not give me his mod position, admin? I have nearly 2 years of MyFF admin experience, and a passion for helping people reach success with their forums.

No one needs a mod position to help others, and such positions here are a bit like hens teeth, so rare that no one should be disappointed that they are not a mod.

I know for a fact that Admin would not just take any old person as a moderator... I've been here a couple of months before Cody and not quite as long as bravo, but they are both moderators. Im not bothered about it though because i know they help out alot around here and i have no problem admitting they know alot more than i do, so they deserve it, and as i dont have a MFF forum anymore i only really post in off-topic, but i still look in the support sections and help out where i can.

No offence intended, but i would seriously eat my hat if admin made you a moderator. As Admin said, you dont need to be a moderator to be of help.. Its just your name in a different colour and some extra authorites after all.

Heh, no offfense takin' XD
But....I hope your hat's pretty tasty.

So pleased you said good looks, as I sure don't have charm of good cups of tea, whilst my brain slowly deteriorates doing a crappy job when I should really do more pc related work. was gonna go do a dreamweaver cs3 web design course, but there isn't any way what so ever that a course adviser is coming to my house to discuss a course I could quite honestly walk all over, his words were that it is to go through the software, I'm like I have an older version and I hand code 97% of what I design, do I really need you to talk to me about something I know about?

So I gave some lame lie about a load of work coming up and ending up shattered after, coupled with being up country, no more phone calls about the course and I'm happily getting more designs done for my site, which I need to sort out

Need to get phpfusion back going, little point until vers. 7 is out tho, see how the templating on that come along, as to whether it's got any better, not that it could get much worse tbh.
