I've been making changes to my forum and have been moving topics to new boards then delteing the old ones.

I finally completed this this morning, all old boards from when the forum was PHPBB2 were cleared and were being deleted, when I pressed delete to get rid of the final one it not only deleted the board I wanted but a whole new catergory I created yesterday and the posts I had moved to it. My post count before this change was 32625 and it is now 31824.

And I have subforums from another board moved to a board where no subforums were created.

sounds like something got screwed up in the database. Have you tried clearing the cache?

Yes I have, delete everything.

Have even got my mods to look and they say the same thing, 801 messages have gone

You may have accidentally deleted some topics without moving them then. Your only option from there is to do a restore, which is $10.

The category I deleted was empty showing 0 topics and 0 posts.

I had moved everything to subforums in a brand new category called projects which has been deleted, I only clicked to delete the catergory called Temptation which was craeted in version 2.

I made sure that it was empty and now the the forums and subforums are showing oddly, moving into places where they were not placed.

I have invoked a function that should sort forum ordering issues.

There is little more that can be done.

The post count is still showing as 31824 and nothing is showing.

So effectively if this has happened then i have lost these 801 posts for good?

Unless you reimport from phpBB2. I am very sorry about this, but phpBB3 is quite a new forums system and at no point can we guarantee against bugs in it. We can't even do that on phpbb2.

I re-run the conversion so everything is back to the way it was.

Going to try again and make the changes.
