What do people want in their own forum galleries?

And for that matter the main gallery.

The forum gallery will be a portal compont with a link from the bottom of the index page (by forum archive), so all forums will have it.

from there people will be able to see just the files that have been posted on their forum, and they will also be able to delete their own files.

But what else is wanted?

I'm planning to start work on this one next week, when hopefully I will have enogugh feedback.

For me personally, especially with regard to the CG Arts forums, it would be cool to have something where I could place a file for download (eg if I make a 3D model for someone) along with a thumbnail image of what the model is.

Also a link to click for further information so I could write a little descriptive text about the file (or perhaps with a scroll bar to read the full description).

oh that is a fantastic idea having a link in our forums to enable a link to our own forum gallery! I really like that idea in looking ahead. when i actually get some members hehe.
but when you say.. what else" i have no idea what that means. what kind of things are we able to ask for? :sorryihavetoaskthese?:

so you want the image to be a link to a download, not a bad idea at all, but the description can be posted on the forum below the linked image surely

ask for anything that you feel could possibly improve the gallery as a whole.

Personally, I'd like the file types seperated by catagories.

e.g.

graphics
audio
3d models

and so on............

The big argument against that, is that I am pretty sure 90% of people simply want to post an image with the minimum of fuss possible. So they will not want to enter a category.

I meant for yourself and the mod to view them for policing.

how about a popularity thing next to each thing or maybe a rating box so that users can see which items are more popular
