web making for dummies - part 4please help me out a sec guys .ok our website so far is looking great but i want to add short url links but ......... "i dont know how to" ??? these are the steps im taking : * goto admin panel * edit web pages * select the homepage to edit * i click on "insert/edit flash" * i use the url code where stated then save ..........but a white box appears on the webpage but no short video... now i know im missing something out, its just putting my fingure on it ? please correct me and put me back on the right path. thanks . lee |

At the add flash stage - when you put your url in does your "movie" show in the preview box?
If not then double check the hotlink from the hosting site. [I'm assuming you have an swf file uploaded to a hosting site that has given you a hotlink to the file] I just did a quick trial on my site and it worked fine. Good Luck

hello matey .... no it does'nt show a preview in the box lust a little symbol in the corner .... but the swf file : interested to know more please .

Or as said leave the link here then we can check it, it could be a number of things, but with a link we can narrow it down a lot. 1. does your link work ? 2. does your host allow hotlinking 3. do they allow flash streaming |

na.....not that one , that link was put on page via editing the webtemplate.
see if you go to any of the other pages you will see that link is on all webpages see what i want to do is post a write up of an event "no probs there" but adding a link of a recording onto the "homepage" via using the "flash option" ............. when doing this it just post's a white box with "flash" wrote inside iv used a ramdom "ULR" link code http://youtube.com/watch?v=bwfrMCjyaNE see link and you will see what i mean http://convicts.myfastforum.org/HomePage.html ? |
