is there a way to just stop absolutley any at all from joining up for a few weeks till he gets bored?
because this is turning into a nightmare .
http//ps3simboxing.myfastforum .org
sorry im on ps3 so it wont let me write my full address in one line, but im sure you know theres no gaps etc.
many thx
myff admin

Set accounts to admin approval in admin/configure.
pooingtons

hi, i have done that . yet he is still there.
im stumped, i even tried changing email address ,everything.
i just cant stop this guy, apparently hes very infamous for being 'unbannable' on a lot of forums.
any other advice.feeling quite violated.
editor

If you don't approve his accounts he can't do much, set the moderation portal so that posts from new accounts you do approve are on moderation.
Then relax, ignore him, you are the one with the power.
pooingtons

well the thing is im not actually approving anyone , yet he still seem to be my newest member.
can i assume that even though hes a member he wont actually be able to do anything?
how is this guy getting past the admin activation? its definitley activated.
thanks.
editor

Just because you are the newest member does not mean your account has been activated.
pooingtons

phew! thats a relief, i believe this guy is a troll yes?
at least all i have to do is just delete numerous names a day.lol.
i dont like trolls,lol.
thanks again.
pooingtons

seems my troll is now starting to write offensive names, anyway can i remove the latest members off the main forum page.
be appreciated thanks.
editor

You can edit index_body.tpl and remove the name, but personally I'd just delete the names, not even rushing it! If you are casual about it then they will not be getting the rise they want. Treat them with the casual contempt they deserve.
pooingtons

i deleted a few but i see theyre getting worse, so id rather are new members arent displayed at all.
we got a new members thread 4 them to introduce theyreselves.
so by removing index body tpl that will presumably not show any new members names.
editor

I did not say remove indexbody.tpl

But really the more you react to morons the more hassle you will get from them, ignore them, deal with it but without reaction or stress.
pooingtons

i hear what your saying but that one line is the only onscreen input you can see of him at present .
if i get rid of that piece of the forum there will be no other way for him to have any affect on the site what so ever.
then he will go,im certain.
any members we have we found them, we dont just let anyone join you see. so i know from their names who join whether they have been invited or not.id really appreciate someone to tell me how to get rid of it.then everything will run smoothly.
i cant imagine it would be too complicated surely. i assume it would be too delete a certain line of text in the forum set up page possibly in the portals.?
some advice would be great , cos this guy is getting under my skin a bit now.if no -one can see him then theres no point him being there right?
many thanks.(i have been calm, but i cant just sit down when i know i can prevent this,ya know?)

in the index_body.tpl there will be a line of code that displays the newest member, I'm not sure exactly what it is for phpbb2 though.  You really need to know what you're doing though or else you could crash your entire style.

I am not sure what template you are using, but go to your index_body.tpl and about halfway down there should be some text that looks like the following.

Code:

<tr>
   <td class="row4" align="center" valign="middle" rowspan="2"><img src="templates/myfs_atherfeet3/images/whosonline.gif" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /></td>
   <td class="row1" align="left" width="100%"><span class="gensmall">{TOTAL_POSTS}<br />{TOTAL_USERS}<br />{NEWEST_USER}</span>
   </td>
  </tr>

Just remove the {NEWEST_USER} part and you should be good to go. Hit the refresh button when you get back to the forum and it should not show anymore. Hope that helps.
