Not sensibly in phpbb2, we have to avoid tricks that really clobber the servers, and that particular feature is unfortunately a server killer.

Thanks for the fast reply, gee wheez the fastest reply ever on any forums I have been on, I said that on one of the IPBFREE Support forums, but this is way faster support, Good Work Admin!
To the Question, how is that a server Killer?
Plus I notice you said phpbb2, so does this Topic Title work on phpbb3?
Thanks in advance,
Warren

All forums operate by database queries, databases are made up of tables.
Showing things in forums often needs access to multiple tables. The database should be designed to minimize accesses, and in the case of phpbb2 showing the index page, it does not need to access the topics tables as the last post details are held elsewhere.
Adding in access to another large table like the topics table would be a big hit. Maybe server killer is egging it a bit, but you have to balance cost and benefits, we run fast servers with limited advertising and if we add features that do clobber the servers excessively then everyone suffers.
As for phpbb3, I confess I don't know if this feature is there already. If it is then all well and good, it not then the same prinicple would apply.

Thank you for the fast reply there Admin. Do you have some Super Powers, to be that fast talk about Superman faster than a Speeding Bullet, has got nothing against you...lol
I know from the Passed, you have had the following names:
MyFastForum
MyFineForum
MyFreeForum
MyFunForum
Do you have any newer ones or not please?

we have myfabforum.org but you can only set up phpbb3 there, and I really still think our phpbb2 offering is a better bet.

What is the downside please?

But phpbb3 is buggy, way too complicated on the permissions side, I don't think anyone here including me feels fluent in its absurd permissions structure. It also has less useful features than we have here with our massively enhanced phpBB2.

From the FAQ
| Quote: | Changing your forums name/ or running it on your own domain
To do this you need to email the current name of your forum. e.g. for this forum:
http://forum.myfreeforum.org
to admin[at]myfreeforum.org along with the setup password and the new name you want. Note you can change only the name not the myfreeforum.org address or myfastforum.org address.
The old name continues to work after a name change, until we either remove the old name, or someone else uses it.
You cannot change between myfreeforum and myfastforum addresses.
If you buy your own domain name, it is generally possible to direct it to your forum so that it looks like it is on your own domain.

I have used the search but nothing comes up, I am looking for the code to use.
And may I ask, why instead of helping a member looking for help, which will be quicker, you guys keep, saying "Use the search" isn't a support forum suppose to help you, instead of making you search around?
Thanks in advance,
Warren

A free support system is not here to do your work for you.
We have a whole howtodoit forum as well as faqs, stickies and search to prevent us needing to answer the same questions time and time again.
Experience proves that if we do pander to people wanting to be lazy, they get lazier and lazier.
Of course we we help people, but we also expect people to try and help themselves.

Thanks for the reply, because the reason I ask is because by using the search there may be 1000 threads with 20 pages each and we may have to go through every single one till we find what we are looking for, that's why I thought by asking directly it'll be easier, and we wouldn't have to go through different sections.

Which is why we have the howtodoit forum which is readonly, and hence a concentrated repository of the answers.
a virtual cash search does being up a whole lot of pointers even on the support forum!
