The 'Must Be Visible To All Guests' policy still in effect?

http://afunplacetobe.myfreeforum.org/index.php

Hi Admin,

You were good enough to provide a link to the full list of MyFF customers' web forums and I've had real education going through and reading some of the ones from the past - some of which don't appear to be still up and a running any more, which is a real pity, as some of them make for really excellent reading!

A case in point - this site: http://liberalcarriagehouse.myfreeforum.org/index.php which doesn't appear to have been touched/posted in since early/middle 2008. Maybe they lost their head of steam when Obama (clearly their choice for president) romped home with the prize and felt they didn't need to bother any more? Who knows.

Any way, I began reading it - and there' some great political satire in its threads - the kind at which Yanks excel - and then I noticed this post: http://liberalcarriagehouse.myfre...org/IMPORTANT_NOTICE_about48.html

From the above link:

It has come to our attention that most of the topics on your forum are
not guest readable
This is in breach of the terms and condtions that can be referred to
here:

Please attend to this matter by changing the forum permissions in your
admin panel.

Note that you do not have to allow guests to post, but they must be
able to view most of your forum.

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Now the reason I bring this up is that, browsing and reading through the list of MyFF forums, some of them are completely closed to all but members - indeed, you can't even see or read their content to see what their forums are about to see if you'd like to join or not.

Now I understand that you do allow 'private' and closed fora, but is the above general rule still in effect - i.e. where a forum has to be open for all non-registered guests at least to be able to read, even though they can't post in it?

Thanks in advance,

FTB.

That no longer applies. You are free to make a forum private if that is what you want.
