Disregarding the fact that the original question was how will the planet come to its end, I think humankind will come to its end by World War III, involving nuclear attacks, a nuclear holocaust, massive casualties, etc.
Either that, or overpopulation and over pollution will increase the greenhouse effect, as will the human ignorance of the environment, especially industrialized nations as such in America, Europe, China, India, etc., which will only increase pollution, and in turn destroying ecosystems, and disrupting the entire food chain. Pollution and the greenhouse effect will make the current hole in the ozone layer much larger, and whereas all species cannot immediately adapt, many will die out, further disrupting the food chain.
In either of these two situations, the end of humankind is being provoked ignorantly by humans themselves, without realizing the consequences of their greedy actions. I completely agree with Symon that humankind's greed will be the death of us.

A lot more people predicted that in the early seventies. They also predicted it in the eighties. The nineties got a bit of a respite, but now it is being predicted again.
I can't predict the future. I do know a little about world politics.
I would be interested to hear the basis from which your 10 year prediction originates.

Oil in the Middle East, the war between Arabs and Israel, the Nuclear Arms Race, fighting for fertile land once the currently fertile land is over farmed, the struggle to control the global economy, fighting for new energy resources once fossil fuels are all used up, and a number of different things in which humans are totally and completely ignorant about. In some cases, ignorance is not bliss.
