Test Drive of IE8I have decided to give what could be our future headache a test drive.First the forum through it Comp Specs since no review is complete with out
Download and Installation - Took long time, IE actually look for malicious software on my computer  then took about 5 mins to install and required a reboot of the comp. Compared to FF that is outright horrible.
IE8 -7 is IE8 running the IE7 emulator Screens IE8

Click to see full size image IE8 - 7 Looks the same as firefox. IE8 -lags- . Every time the MyFF banner spins, it stops for a second then continues then resumes. When I scroll, it lags. IE8 -7 does the same but not nearly as bad. http://adobe.com Load time test IE8 6 seconds (acceptable, 1.2 MBs internet speed) FF2 2 Seconds (lot of edits) IE8 - 7 5 seconds. Did I mention IE8 Lags a lot Memory IE8 - 15k usage FF2 - 93K I tried using IE8 HTML debugger however it crashed. 3 times. It is still in BETA so you can't make a conclusion yet and comparing it to FF2 seems unfair. Just save up for headache medicine. |
