Hey,

I have always wondered how to make a template from scratch to use...

Can you just make one image like Nick did here http://forum.myfreeforum.org/about13838.html and then take bits from that image to use in the forum?

If you can, how on earth do you start coding it

Sorry if that doesnt make much sense, but what I really want to know is...is it possible to make a template from scratch that actually works

I understand what you're saying, but I was asking more out of interest than out of the possibility of actually trying.

I use fireworks and dreamweaver, I basically build a template as a complete image, then think about the layout and how it needs to be split, then I go about splitting it.

I always save the image twice, one with all the layers in png and the other as a flattened(all the layers merged) png, with the flattened one being what I use to split up the images needed.
