Smilies and links delete on editing postsHi
We've just changed over to phpbb3 and it's perfect for our needs. (Thanks myff!) But we are having a problem with editing posts.
When anyone edits or quotes a post, be it staff or user, any smilies in the post or any links are deleted. Smilies just disappear, but any links are replaced with "m" No other bbcode seems to be affected. This happens on all sections of the forum.
Been racking my brains over this but I'm just going round in circles! I've tried searching here and looked on Howtodoit, but I can't see anything similar.

An example of a post which has been affected when edited is
http://tndtalk.myfreeforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1226
The second line and third lines
"I'd appreciate it if you guys had a look at this:
m"
The m is where the link (http://www.justgiving.com/jayneandchris) used to be.
We are using prosilver which I've done very little to - not brave enough to tackle some of the editing at the moment.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

The smilies seem to appear in a preview at which point they are lost in the posting box.
I am very confused by this, as I cannot see what is wrong with your set up.
I will continue to work on the issue.

I am amazed that this has not been reported before, as it does seem a repeatable issue with an upgraded forum. This effects new posts as well as old posts.
Clearly this is pretty critical.
I will make every effort to ensure a solution by Monday.

This also applies to new forums

Mystery solved.
A week or two ago I followed some seemingly innocuous hack instructions to make links open in new windows.
These instructions caused the bug
In fixing this I have been looking at the current phpBB3 code tree, this confirms there are very radical structural changes in posting in the pipeline.

Seems to be working now. Thank you for fixing it

Sorry - back again!
Just been told by the co-admin that we are getting the following after each link in a quoted or edited post:
onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'd not noticed as members had been deleting the rogue bit they didn't need (been out all day and that's what I get for assuming and not checking it properly! )
I'm guessing it's just surplus code, and it's purely aesthetic. Is this something i can fix myself, or best left to you experts?
Thanks again.
