Our T&C say you can occasionally email your members, including a paid advert in this is not a particular problem.
I really wish swapit forums would stop trying to get each other into trouble

All I'll say is that I wouldn't be a member of any forum which I suspected of farming the email addresses of its members.

They are not farming the emails, they have them, and are possibly sending an advert to their members. I'd be the first to say I don't approve (and as a company myff has never sent a single advert via email to our customers) but this sort of thing is practically standard operating practice for web sites these days, so we can't sensibly impose our own standards on forum owners. |
