Posts Not Showing

Hi everyone, its been a while since i last visited the support forum. In fact its been a while since i played around with a forum.

Anywho, i have found a problem that i have never come across before. The problem is i can't view any posts, for example when i clik on New Pilots which is the only category with posts in at the moment i see a message saying no posts etc etc, yet there are clearly 2 posts, one of which was a test post i made after realising i couldn't read the 1st post.

the forum in which i have this problem on is, http://flightsimforum.myfanforum.org/index.php. If someone camn please explain if its a setting that has been added since i last created/played with a forum or if its a datebase problem etc etc.

Thanks in advance
Roy.

You need to set the permissions for that area.

Ok thanks Symon, and sorry this post iis in the wron area it should be in the PHPBB2 category, ok that didn't work. I have tried about 4 to 5 different templates including the defual sub silver and no posts are visable.

This is weird, could it be a pronlem with myfanforum?

Well this won't be a template issue and won't be a myfanforum.org issue, it would effect all phpBb2 forums on the "ford" server.

I have looked in as admin on this forum and I confess i'm confuzzled.

thats a bad thing though because this mean's its something you've never come across either and it means a lot of checking to be done to find out what the problem is and if its effecting just my forum or a whole bunch of forums.

I just noticed in forum archives the posts do show.

When a new post is made the icon lights up to show a new post and the index page relexs the new thread in the category and if you click on he tag to go directly to that postyou can view t but if you click on the category to view all threads it say's no posts have been made etc.

The memberlist is not visible either. It is as if the admin is limited in permissions somehow.

Can confirm nothing wrong with vista template as use it on many of my forums.

topics per page in admin/configure had been set to "0". This is not a good move!
Roy

Ok i will go through the stages of what i did, i never edited any codes at all, i haven't even created an Editor account yet i was getting the index page to look how i wanted to ie, the fprums and categories and the template i was thinking of using which is the vista template, i was then going to make some posts, but that was when i realised i couldn't vew any messages.

You see it is fixed now, it must have been a typo when doing the config.
Roy

Cool, thanks Admin.

I no this is off topic but i hope the PHBB3 project is moving a long smoothly, not that i want a PHBB3 forum but like you said in a previous thread thats what the market is now, and many people will try a PHBB3 forum before trying the PHBB2, most will be wise and create a phbb2 forum after the see the admin panel for phbb3 whil some will be happy to continue to try and work with the phbb3 forum.

For me i like simple things and phpbb2 is perfect for what i want and for me all the hacks/mods that you have added to phpbb2 is more than enough, and all hacksmods i would want have already been done for phbb2 so no real reason to run and create a phpbb3 frum.

Anywho again thank you for sorting the problem with my forum out and i wish you the best of luck with ppbb3 bugs, fixes and what ever else you might need to do to them. Wink
