Portals causing login problems

http://homeandaway.myfastforum.org

I have been trying to add the following to the overall header in subsilver2

{MYFF.LATEST}
{MYFF.STICKY}
{MYFF.ANNOUNCE}

when I add these and go to my login page I get error messages and the layout is all destorted

Here is the error which appeared under the announcement header on the login page

Notice: NO_SEARCH in /home/httpd/vhosts/ford.myfunforum.org/httpdocs/phpBB3/myffcms/com_search.php on line 264
admin (no pm's please)

Are you sure the line 264 error still happens? That should have been resolved.

I will go check and if so I will leave it so you can see it

Thanks for that the login page is back to normal, the only problem now is the announcement portal displays as

{ COMPONENT_ANNOUNCE }

also (and I know it seems picky) the "latest post" portal isnt the same heading and style as the others, is there a way to change it?
admin (no pm's please)

I think that happens because the underlying issue is that guest have no permission to search the forum.

You need to fix this, or portals that are doing a search are never going to work, as such the cosmetics issues that arise are not really a point of concern, as the portal will always give some kind or error unless the permissions are fixed.

I dont get it then as guests have permission to view the site, just not post to it

Also, when I am logged in as me I get

{ COMPONENT_ANNOUNCE }

{ COMPONENT_LATEST }

and no results
admin (no pm's please)

Portal work using guest permissions.

Search permissions in phpbb3 are different to viewing permissions.

This has got me stumpted now. I have no idea what to do next

Did you set the guest search permisions?

Under the permissions for the anonymous user, there is an option for "user can search the forum"

Thanks, thats solved it. I could have sworn it was set as that already but obviously not.

I know that was what Admin was getting at but I am a dummy and needed that info above.

Thanks again

Case closed (fingers crossed)
