Question 2 of the posting checklist tells you exactly where to go.

Quote:
  1. You must give the (myfree/myfast/myfine)forum.org link to your forum. A link should be given to the problem if at all possible. Do this whether you think it is important or not.
  2. Search on the forum and on howtodoit for your problem before posting. 90% of the posts we get have easily found answers if you search on a couple of key words from your post. If this is not the case report the keywords you searched on and we will make sure search works for the next person to try the same search terms. Each time someone doesn't bother to use the search, questions accumulate in the forum making it harder for people to actually find answers! as people searching will end up finding the question and not the answer.
  3. Keep it to one support question per thread, if you have another question start a new topic. This will help others using "search" to find answers.

this one?

You need to learn slowly, do you even really know what you mean by a "thanks button"? I don't!

thats exactly what i need, is there anywhere which goes through each area of the admin finctions in really simple terms, explaining what each bit does? i have tried to follow it but i found it very complicated.

a thanks button is what users press if they like a post and it tells the poster they have a thanks i saw it in the portal as well but i cant figure out how to use the prtal, thats what i need just links to some simple reading material,

thank you for helping

Have you watched the video guides?

If you are struggling with basic admin functions, then really forget about a thanks button for now. Frankly it is a waste of space, of someone likes a post they can post that they like a post, or PM the poster! A button that just sends an automated PM really is pretty lame. It can of course be done, but it is at the harder end of adding things.

thank you i will look at that now

I have found Symon's guides on howtodoit very helpful (Thank you Symon). My advice is, just take one step at a time. You will learn it, but it cannot be learned overnight. And don't let people stress you out about what THEY want. You are owner of the board, what you want and what you are able to do is most important. Just relax an enjoy the journey.
