Phpbb2 - Forum subscription systemThis should be installed Wednesday, so you will see a link at the top of each forum on your board allowing you to:
"Watch this forum for posts"
Which will mean you will get an email new topic notification if someone posts.
Thus far the implementation is utterly simplistic. If you are registered you see the link, if not you don't. This is unlike phpbb3 where rumour has it, it can be done, but you need a degree in rocket science to find it, and even then it does not seem to be working well for people
I hope this new feature is both useful (I know I will be using it) and assuages any worries people may be having that we may not be developing phpbb2 as we now have phpbb3 available.

This tool does sound very useful
(But I doubt I will use it, as I only visit two or three forums hosted by MyFF now-a-days..)

Having thought a bit more about this, I think there should be "Watch all forums for new topics" and "Stop watching any forum" links on the index page, but workload dictates this cannot be written for tomorrow
So I will stick with installing what has been done tomorrow, and the additional features will be happening later in the week.

This is now installed
Notably it is currently lacking any options whatsoever, any registered user can subscribe to any or all forums they have access rights to.
