Hard to day much without information on how the domain is mapped.
Has it been done in the recommended way via DNS?
But the key to staying on google is lots of links, and google is not keen on redirects, so it is best to keep those links to static pages.
Creating an index.html so there is not a redirect would help if the link you are putting out is the www homepage.

what do you mean when you say " how your domain name is mapped" ? sorry I dont understand a great deal about this type of thing
we have two link pages one is on the main posting page http://theukforum.co.uk/ and the other being this page http://www.theukforum.co.uk , its the latter page that Google has failed to index.

I just followed your instruction.:-)
When you use our domain name www.theukforum.co.uk , MFF seems to re-direct it , now this wasnt a problem when we used our old domain name , we were still able to achieve a good Google ranking:-)

if the domain is directed via the dns, as indeed it seems to be, then the main thing you can do is to actually have an index.html file.
Just create it, and make it use the portal template, and put a portal like {MYFF.LATEST} on the page, and you will have the same look, but without the redirect. This will help with google.

I have looked in various how to do it searches, but unfortunately because my knowledge on these things is zilch,i have had no joy.
Please could you give us a simpler explanation as to how to rectify the problem. The fact that Google hasn't crawled the site for a month is a real worry
Thanks
Anne

so i make a webpage and add {MYFF.LATEST} that to the page , the re-direct will cease and our members will still see the index page???

Yes put what ever you want in the middle we only used latest as an example or go to cms_index.tpl and change latest for something else.

Thanks alot Symon I will do that . the page seems to still be using a re-direct , so i hope i did it right.
I think the problem we are having is due to us changing DNS sites from http://www.everydns.net/manage.php to http://freedns.afraid.org I'm sure it cant be just a coincidence that Google has failed to crawl our homepage since we transferred our derails over to the new site, so with your permission , I would like to transfer them back , is that ok????
