http://thestoragesystem.myfreeforum.org-Why was it deleted?Umm ok, now I think The Storage System was deleted a while back, but I just found out about it today('cuz I hardly visited anymore). I was a member of my friend's site, and he said he doesn't know why it's been deleted w/out email notice or anything. I just wanted to know how it might've breached the terms? |

this rings a very vague bell, and it was never deleted, at least not under that name. My recollection is that the forum was renamed. But logging systems only tell the story of what happened under the old name. So my records tell of a forum created and then blank... | ||

The owner said on another mff forum (http://dialitup.myfreeforum.org) that it was deleted, but you said you know nothing about it lol. Well, maybe some kind of accident happened? Anywho, thanks for letting me know.

As I said it was not deleted at least not under that name. Every action on a forum is logged but I can only see the actions by filtering on the current/deleted forum name. "thestoragesystem" brings up nothing, hence it must have been renamed.
Possibly this was a case of a rogue taking complete control panel control and asking for a rename? |

Hey.
I'm the owner of the said forum and yes I have asked for a forum name change since I thought that it may bring new members if it had a new and attractive name. So I requested it to be changed from http://thestoragesystem.myfreeforum.org to http://gamingcorner.myfreeforum.org. But I never received a confirmation mail from admin that my forum had its name changed. So I figured you refused. So I returned to my forum only to be greeted by the 'deleted' page. |

This is really ancient history, this must have been 18 months ago or so.
If you don't visit a forum for ages and it has been renamed, then it will get purged as dead. If your spam filter loses our email that we have done as you asked, then that is not our problem! |

Also, why does the link not work? I thought the old name would still work unless someone else takes the old name? |

Confirmations are sent, it is extremely rare on an automated system that one doesn't get sent, all I can say was the admins email address changed on the forum and the owners panel, if it wasn't on the owners panel then that should be where the confirmation gets sent to, so if ti wasn't changed then you wouldn't have got it, which is a tad unfortunate. also, you are talking well over a year ago, purged forum names aren't kept back for that long anything longer than six months, then I'm sure it was released to allow a new forum to be created, again can't expect much when the forum was left un attended for so long. if the name is free and you want the forum, then all I can suggest is to re-create it and start to build back up, I know a rather large task as you've no way of mailing the former members, but I'm sure in all this a new lease of life for it would gain new members with a broader discussion. |
