I need help getting rid of a trojan virusHey guys, My pc has recently been infected with th Trojan Virus. : Back door trojan and also i may have a worm/ spy/adware.I am currently running: Avast Norton And Windows Defender I really need help getting rid of this virus. I cannot restore my pc. I have many files, and softwares that i cant replace. i also cant back them up. I need a software that can get rid of the virus permanently. without a restore. If you help, that would be great. I do not want to infect another pc by acident, from a post or file upload. |

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/us/frt/0 System restore does not kill your files as such anyway, and is never the best option to get rid of a virus as it will hide in memory and unless you turn off restore to blank it ,, it will come back a again anyway. |

You are running 2 Anti virus programs at once. Bad idea as they can conflict. Second - you are running norton. Third - Are you 100 PERCENT sure you have a virus and not a false positive? Fourth- See what Symon said. Fifth- Do you have a firewall? You didn't list one. Get ZoneAlarm Firewall if you don't have and/or using Windows firewall as windows firewall is outright horrible, Sixth- For spware use Spybot and/or Ad-adware (something like that) Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html |

well, i have a message poping up every 3 seconds ( Its a yellow triangle with a ! in it) it says:
summary: system performance slowed down by: 47% internet connection speed decreasead by 39% possible reason spyware app/ adware popup windows. click baloon to download spyware scan tool to remove spyware/ adware applications ______________________________- then some other msg shows up at other times, same baloon, saying that a trojan is threating my pc, or has stolen info, or a worm has been found... i did run what symon said, and it deleted 9 threats, but i still have that pop up msg, and sometimes when it pops up, internet expolrer pops up, with some spyware anti crap... |

I call that ransom-ware.
Run multiple AV Scanners with your computer in safe mode (I did say it could cause problems, but what ever it takes to get it) and have system restore turned off. Run Anti Spyware also for good measures. This sounds more like Spyware then a trojan. Virus can replicate so you have to destroy them 'all' at once. However you are on the right track to beating it. If out of options, I have read you can use ubuntu's live CD to scan your hdd and recover your files to a flash drive and do a full reinstall. |

how do you put pc in safe mode?
also, should i run multiple av scans at the same time, or just back to back? |
