i begane the conversion a few weeks ago and got it all set up nicely to how i wanted it, which i might add was considerably different from the forums under the original domain (without.ford3 in the address)

andi couldnt figure out how to 'finalise' the conversion so the new forums take over the original url.

what i did, quite stupidly was go through the conversion process again, thinking thats what you needed to do.

it... overwrote all the work id done on the new forums.... ???!!!?!?!?!??!

ok ok... big stupid mistake on my half. but now iv got to a point where im ready to actualy finalise the conversion PROPERLY (personal shout) so im coming to ask you guys how its done.

i cant seem to figure out how to do it atall... theres an option in the myff control panel (the same place you can perform the conversion) that looks like this:

Changing the link will change your forum type. A change may take up to 48 hours for the link to propagate. Forcing the link will ensure people instantly get to the right forum, but will stop you accessing the old forum via any link.DO NOT CHANGE THE LINK UNTIL YOU HAVE TESTED PHPBB3 AND DECIDED ON IT.

Make Forum link :   Add Force: *box*  Remove Force: *box* Changed on 0000-00-00 00:00:00

iv chaecvked the add force box but nothing has happened and there isnt any button to allow some kind of activation of the 'Add force' box you can check...

i'm a little stumped and i dont want to screw it all up again. could you please talk me through the finalising process.

Just use the box to change the link to phpbb3, then use add force if you want to make sure users are sent to the phpbb3 forum before propagation takes place.

Nothing in the control panel is going to delete anything.
