I've seen tons of references to portals, but I'm only vaugely familiar with what they are and I suspect my site could be doing better if I understood them. Could someone direct me to the intro to portals or explain the basics to me?

portals are, for one example, like the menus you see on the left side of this forum, but they can do so much more than that.

to see all the possible portals go into your admin pannel and look for Portal Settings. then to add one, use this link here http://howtodoit.myfreeforum.org/about630.html&highlight=portal , but just incase you dont know the name of your portal, like {MYFF.????}, click on the one youd like to use in Portal Settings.

say you click/make a login portal, when you look at top you will see in the uppermost text-box the name LOGIN, so the name of that portal you would add into the link i gave you would be {MYFF.LOGIN}.

oh yeah forgot about that... sorry nick. portalogy also has everything youll ever need to make any portal you want. and if it dont exist, just ask, it will. to an extent anyway
