What is a Portal? [Sorry for this question...] :PI feel very dumb to ask this, but I have looked all around. I used the Search function, I tried looking at the Portal guides, I tried just figuring it out for myself on my forum, etc. But I still don't really know the definition of a portal. I also do not understand how to use them, cause I have tried. But I'll just use the guides for that.If I may ask, and I hope I'm not being an annoying idiot -- What is a portal? My old forum link is http://aotn.myfastforum.org (I do not use this very much anymore) My new forum link is http://meltinglemonz.myfastforum.org (this is the one I'm using) |

Portal view - What you see if you place "www." in front of you forum address. A page that contains a selection of portal components, plus a main component area that will also have a portal component in it.
Portal component - A snippet of information derived from your forum, formated in a template you can edit. For example a MENU or TOPPOSTERS. Portal components can be displayed in the portal view or in a forum, or a web page. |
