No ordinary teen chat.www.freeteen.myfreeforum.orgTeen chat and advice, with out restrictions. Only those set up by MFF. So any one 13 or older can discuss anything without shame. I was inspired to make this forum when I was at neopets. I was trying to gove tweens advice becasue I'm 17 and figured I could help them. I did help alot of kids but after a little bit a mod banned me for discussing "adult issues" in my case religion. I checked their rules list to see what they considered adult issues. Basically it was anything thought provoking religion, politics, realtionships. So I thought teens need a place to get help and discuss thought ptovoking things. Now it's here! Any questions, comments, or sugestions are welcome. |

Well here's the usual suggestion: Post threads in each forum section you have there so new members will already have something to reply to and discuss after joining.

Well, I'll try to jump start discussion but I would suggest to any one considering joining don't be shy. I you join it will encourage other to join which will mean more people for you to get advice from or discuss things with. | ||||||||

just another wanabe forum...
Advertising at 2 posts is the best idea ever! not really.. Try getting some more posts first and possbily some more members (privately ones such as best friends or family) that way you are in tough more and can make more posts.

Well I think the conflict with that is if he mainly has family members and good personally known friends there, then that would be kind of defeating the purpose of a teen forum. I mean, a forum should be for any of those teens to join that want advice and whatnot, if it's just his family members and good friends they should just talk about it on Instant Messenger or something. IMO. |

Having friends kickstart the forum is a good way.
I had to pester a few of mine to get mine started... once an old highschool friend spammed it up, and I had a good selection of posts to get started people were joining and posting. So it just takes a little time, and you gotta start it yourself. people ARE shy about posting about their life. Make them comfortable first and then go from there. |

Sorry for sticking my nose in here, but I just wanted to say I had a look at your forum and there's nothing to discuss. You need to set it up properly before advertising it. As mentioned you need to invite your friends over.
I'm sure you have a bebo/facebook/myspace page you could invite through. Also, you need to watch what kind of things are discussed as your adverts on the page will reflect this, I logged on and was faced with an advert for buying teenage porn. There is a question of whether paedo's and other unlikable folks might enjoy reading what you write? I'll butt out now

Having said that, the ads that were displaying when I looked were quite innocent, so maybe Angel caught it at a bad time, certainly worth you keeping an eye out

Bad plug for your forum... but as well, he needs to make the choice to go to phpbb3 on his own. While it can be easier to work with, it's still buggy, and incomplete. Personally, I prefer phpbb3, but that is just my preference, many forums run phpbb2 and work great - it's a reliable version.
And - in reference to the promotion sites - those are all link farms, which are looked down on by Google, if you are trying for more traffic. Google will delist link farms and sites that link to link farms. what does that mean? it means it prevents your page from coming up in a google search. |
