DoDs has gone more like TF2 so they say, i dont know as i have never played TF2 before.

But i do know that all DODS have move to the orangebox, this has caused me and countless other server owners a massive headache.

Half the mods do not work with orangebox and you have to update Mani Admin and Mattie eventscripts to the orangebox install.

My gungame server has timed out due to one of the mods crashing it, yesterday i spent best part of 3 hours transferring all files from my old dods folder to the new Orangebox folder.

There was no warning as far as i was aware, my hosts just switched me, and they didnt even tell me, i had to find out after i had complaints on the phone (was away up north for 3 days) asking why a server i rent out wasn't working.

I don't like the new version of DODS at all , each time you kill , it stops and asks you do you want to take a screen shot of the person who killed you?? think that be the last thing you wish to do.

Then there is all the new achievements you can get, this will get people cheating even more in their race to be the first to get them all.

Why cant we just have a fun game like it use to be, where you ran around completing the objectives, while blowing your friends heads off. ???

Steam do not seem to give a damm about their customers at all, as long as the £££ ($$$) roll in they will continue to upset the die hard fans.

I'd rather css had the weapon achievements tbh, dod is old school can't get many more weapons than what they already had. either way tho I've switched to cod4 due to it's ability to do more for your fps and it's weapon unlocks, that and it looks a shed load more realistic than css.

I remember complaining when my css kept going up the wall, where everyone kept saying you'll have to delete your client.blob file, left me fuming, with a reply of: I shouldn't F#####g have to, it's obviously a bug, so go F#####g fix it you useless money grabbing junkies.

I hate the update, Updating was easy for me, a few simple commands in the termal.
Mani will not work for me and if you do have mani their is a flaw in which ANYONE can crash your server easily. The map team 'Rusmar' has said they can no longer compile maps (e.g make the maps) and some maps might not work on the update. I know the flagship towers map works so I am leaving my server on it only. Mani Voting does not even work.

Their is a petition (We have the right to) you can sign and valve said they may look at it, over 1500 signitures so far.

For me and symon dods update was like admin installing phpbb3. Headache > Gain.

Valve should of NEVER touched DoD and really DoD is CSS's BUG TESTER. They wanted to test the orangebox on DoD first before CSS. Saying DoD is no where near as popular as CSS   .
