Modern Warfare 2 forumhttp://modernwarfare2.myfanforum.orgMy new forum for Modern Warfare 2, the forthcoming first person shooter from Infinity Ward which is released in November. The site also covers Call of Duty 4 and also community events between forum members i.e. online games etc. I am expecting the influx of members to gain momentum over the next week as I have a fairly large online friend base from Call of Duty. It's been a couple of years since i've made a forum and i've forgotten alot of things 
But i'm sure it will come back to me and I can improve the site. BTW, my username for the MW2 site is Gosu71 |

Well we've moved up to 81 members and a total of 3316 articles at the time of writing. I don't know if you've looked but we've implemented lots of Call of Duty related badges/medals for users to earn as part of their profile and lots of cool stuff in the pipeline. I've never used the search button and HowToDoIt so much in all my time here

Wow, things are going really well at the moment.
We are currently top in the top 100 Call of Duty websites! Up to 90 members and 5133 articles, all this in little over a week. I don't know if admin can recall a few years back, but I managed to get my old Warcraft 3 clan forum onto the 1'st page of Google. Of course, like most clans we disbanded so I sadly had the forum deleted. I've added a chat box which is really popular, not many people like them but it's good for us as we can inform each other when we are going online for a game in real time. |

Word of mouth has mainly been part of the success. But i'm going to spread the word around on various Call of Duty sites and hope for the growth to continue. |

Sorry I didn't add it sooner, real life drove me crazy for a week. I just added yours to the top of the front page on my forum. I think it would be good to get a different affiliate button, since that one is a bit hard to read, and if you do then just let me know and I'll update it.
Also, just a thought, but you may want to consider adding a different favicon. It's the image that goes with the address bar and the title of a bookmarked page. For MYFF it's the M in the red/yellow/green circle, and on my own site it's an HR. It's not too hard to add in, just add

Time for an update.
The forum has been up for just over 4 weeks and we have 206 members at the time of writing and a total of 18345 articles. Alot of the members were gained through word of mouth or via Twitter. Anyone who plays Call of Duty or gaming in general, check us out. Modern Warfare 2 fan forum |

Approaching the 250 member mark.
Making alot of cosmetic changes to the forums look i.e. clickable pics in the forum descriptions and tidier sub forums. Once this is all done I don't see the need to tinker with the actual forums look anymore, only the medals/ribbons what people can earn in their profiles. |

Well, I think that's where the rankings change - they base it on older searches, weight them differently. So if you've searched for something that matches your forum before and then search for that your forum will rank higher. | ||||||

Clickable pics in the forum descriptions are coming along nicely. We have managed to implement a nice effect (on several images at the moment) when your mouse hovers over the image.
Virtual cash is up and running and i'm working on a virtual shop full of virtual 'Call of Duty' goodies. The chatbox has been moved from the bottom of the forum out the way. A click on the chat icon in the top right of the forum brings the chatbox out in a perfectly sized pop up window. A really cool flash gallery has also been implemented by clicking on the camera icon in the top right hand corner of the forum. It's still under construction but the main Modern Warfare 2 gallery works really well. |

Modern Warfare 2 forum Also our media section is fully up and running, it really is a cool feature and can be seen here -> Modern Warfare 2 forum Media Our 'shadowbox' feature is really looking good and can be seen here, just click on a pic and see the shadowbox do it's tricks -> Modern Warfare 2 forum Shadowbox feature We also have a cool looking 'mouseover on the forum banner. Hover your mouse over it and see. We are now up to 363 members and rising and have a sizeable hardcore of regular users. I've set up affiliations with other large likeminded sites and this has brought in new users and opened up new avenues. I'm about to complete an affiliation with weplaycod from Twitter, which has over 1000 followers and this will generate us ALOT of new members. At the time of writing, we are the 134th largest forum on MFF which is some achievement. |
