Modactions: Minor bug (i think)

http://footballitalia.myfastforum.org

cms_modactions.tpl

The ALLOWNEWTOPIC action seems to display that this action has been implemented for both the trigger and target members, instead of just the target member.

See the blue font in the screen shot below;
(trigger member is editor, target member is user test)

My ALLOWNEWTOPIC configuration;

The good news is that the trigger member editor was actually allowed in the first place. So the DISALLOWNEWTOPIC action doesn't affect the trigger member's privileges, so that's alright.

Also, i've noticed that when i change one of the configurations in the MODACTIONS portal and click 'Update portal parameters', it doesn't actually change the configuration until i repeat the change and click 'Update portal parameters' again. Always works the second time though, so again this isn't a big deal but just highlighting it anyway.

I am not seeing an issue with updating portal parameters.

The first issue is/was a bug in the MODACTIONs definitions, there are two entries for ALLOWNEWTOPIC, the first one is right, the second one is wrong and should be disabled or renamed. I have done this in the default settings, but that may not effect your live set up.

thanks for the report.
Myles

Thanks, i've disabled the second one and it works now.

Only one action displays now (in blue), perfect!

Regarding the updating portal parameters, i tested this on FF, IE and Safari on a different PC today with very recently installed browsers that haven't had any of their settings changed. I've noticed that it does actually update, but that it just doesn't always change the display of the configuration. This evident by clicking the updating portal parameters button, then seeing that the configuration still displays the old settings, but rather than resetting the configuration and clicking the updating portal parameters button again like i was doing last night, this time if i click straight on the - 3. Styles >> Portal Settings >> MODACTIONS [icon] the configuration displays the new settings that i choose. So it is updating the configuration, but it just won't always display as such. Very minor, probably not even a bug, and certainly doesn't ruin my experience

I can verify this.  I've had this problem before.  Mostly what I saw was that if updating multiple parameters it may only show one or two updates.

Could this be a problem that it is sending the update and grabbing the information from the db before it gets updated?  Just working ahead of itself I mean.
Myles

Just one last bug, sorry about this.

The /action.php?action=MODACTIONS and /action.php?action=MODACTIONS&popup=1&u=171 page doesn't work in Safari nor Chrome.

When i tick or untick one of the boxes beside the action it turns green or red as it's suppose to, but when i click the submit button the action isn't carried and the The following actions have just been carried out; part doesn't show.

I'm fairly sure this is the last one, so i won't be 'bugging' you with this portal again hopefully.

Edit: it works in FF and IE

Edit#2: Same issue on two different PC's. I'm using the JustFooty theme so maybe it's just confined to this theme, which would obviously mean it's not a bug, but rather a .tpl problem so if anyone can confirm that it works on Safari and Chrome with subsilver then obviously it's my own problem to sort out.
myff admin

Thanks for that, I did know this bug existed but not that it could be repeated on Chrome, now I know I am sure I can solve it.

I did not have anywhere I could sensibly replicate the issue.
Myles

Thanks admin, again sorry for the hassle.

Thank you for being as thorough with your problem as you have been.  Giving such precise information helps us track down problems much faster.

Cheers!  Wink

believed fixed.

There is a form oddity going on here, the javascript that submits the form somehow leaves the "send" submit field blank so we think we have nothing to do. I have basically hacked around this It has to be some stupidity on my part though
Myles

Excellent! It works in all four browsers for me now, thanks a million!

The popup flickers in Safari, but the report portal popup does that aswell and it's probably down to Apple's own restrictions on coding. It's so minor it's barely noticeable anyway.

Thanks for sorting this out, much appreciated.
